How We Got Started

Before my wife and I got married in November 2025, we eventually reached the point every couple does. How were we actually going to get to the ceremony and reception?

We looked into a few local transportation companies that offered classic cars, but the pricing was far beyond what we expected. We also checked Turo, but the options were limited and nothing really fit our style. For a while, we decided we would simply drive ourselves or use Uber.

As the wedding got closer, Gabby's dad offered to gift us a chauffeured classic car experience. He found someone available to bring a car over from Miami, and suddenly the transportation was taken care of.

At first, I was against the idea. It seemed unnecessary when a black SUV could get us from one place to another just as easily. I could not have been more wrong.

The Ride That Changed Our Minds

Neither of us had ever ridden in a Rolls Royce, and I cannot emphasize enough how special the experience was. After all the nerves of the ceremony and the rush of taking photos, we climbed into the back of this beautiful car, poured some champagne and were whisked away to our next destination.

It was the first real moment of the day when it was just the two of us. It may have been the only quiet moment we had together until the entire wedding was over. Yes, there was a driver, but he gave us our space and made the experience fun. He had music, water and champagne ready for us, and he allowed us to simply enjoy the moment.

As we drove, people waved, honked and smiled at us. It felt incredibly special in a way I had never considered before. Looking back, I would have immediately said yes to the experience had I understood everything that came with it.

Then There Were the Photographs

Some of our favorite and most enjoyable photos from the entire wedding were taken with the Rolls Royce. A standard black SUV may accomplish the transportation part, but it does not add the same style or timeless quality. The Rolls Royce elevated the photographs and made the entire experience feel even more memorable.

The Idea Begins

While we were on our honeymoon, we received our wedding photos and fell in love with the images featuring the car. I have always been interested in finding a good side business, so I quickly started working through the numbers to see whether owning a wedding car could make sense for us.

We eventually moved on from the idea, but then Gabby's dad brought it up independently. Once we realized everyone was thinking the same thing, we decided to seriously explore it.

We searched Facebook Marketplace, eBay and just about anywhere else that might have the right car. Eventually, we found a listing through a dealership on the other side of Florida. About a month later, we went to see it. The car had recently been retired after spending approximately 20 years in the wedding transportation industry. It felt like it was meant to be, so we decided to take the leap and purchase it.

Bringing the Rolls Royce Back to Life

The car needed work. It required new paint, refinishing and touch ups to the woodwork, new carpeting and a very thorough cleaning. It also had plain black tires, which we knew needed to be replaced with classic whitewalls.

Once the paint and carpeting were complete, we took it for a test drive. Driving a right hand drive Rolls Royce was an experience in itself, and it was incredibly fun. The project was finally coming together.

We transported the car back across the state and began taking care of everything required to operate it properly. We registered it, insured it and continued cleaning and improving it. We ordered new whitewall tires, added amenities for the rear passenger area and began working on a solution for the license plate.

Because the car was imported, its rear bumper was designed for a European style plate. We did not want a standard U.S. plate distracting from wedding photos, so we searched for a way to conceal it when the car was parked. Eventually, we found a retractable license plate holder. We also ordered European style display plates reading Just Married and Naples Wed Car for photos and events.

The First Major Challenge

Then the mechanical problems began. After longer drives, the car sometimes needed to be jumped, and we could not determine why. Gabby's dad and our mechanic initially believed I was not giving the car enough gas when starting it, but I suspected an electrical or starter issue.

We continued using the car without making any major changes until Naples Lifestyle Magazine contacted us about featuring it in their August issue. The photoshoot was for a new venue being offered through Shore Acres Farm, approximately 20 miles from where we stored the car. I was nervous the entire drive because I was not sure the car would start again once I arrived.

When the team asked me to reposition the car, my fear became reality. It would not start. After approximately 20 very embarrassing minutes, it finally turned over and they were able to complete the photoshoot. Two hours later, it started without any trouble and made it home. At that point, we knew the issue had to be resolved. Fortunately, our mechanic diagnosed the problem and determined that the starter needed to be replaced.

Our First Bookings

Once the car was running reliably again, we received our first booking. It felt surreal. When we first created the Instagram account, someone contacted us within an hour. That person officially booked approximately three months later for an end of the night wedding getaway. Soon after, another couple booked the car for a four hour reservation.

We had the Rolls Royce professionally detailed and prepared for the events. I had never been more nervous, mostly because of all the mechanical issues we had dealt with leading up to that point. Thankfully, the car performed perfectly for both weddings.

We have since continued adding thoughtful touches, including an LED Just Married sign. We are still investing in the business, and specialty insurance is not inexpensive, but we are excited to see where it goes.

Driving the Rolls Royce is a joy, and the first two weddings we worked were an absolute blast. During one of them, I even helped organize the bridal procession before the ceremony and fixed the bride's veil just before she walked down the aisle.

What began as a wedding day experience we almost decided against has now become something we are able to share with other couples. We understand firsthand that the car is not simply transportation. It creates a private moment, a memorable experience and photographs that couples can treasure for the rest of their lives.
